rooted in tradition
The tradition of weaving speaks across cultures and time. I first started weaving wax wire at my coffee table, and the rhythm of it became a signature Kefi technique. This ring begins with five strands of wax wire woven together by hand. The form is cast in precious metal by a family-run casting house in New York City's Diamond District, then refined at my jewelry bench into a ring made to be worn and treasured for a lifetime. Because each one begins with weaving by hand, no two are exactly alike.
The woven texture catches light in unique ways, inviting a closer look. Made for the one who appreciates thoughtful details, this narrow woven band brings five strands together into a sculptural ring that feels light on the hand while making an impression.
Named for Hygeia (hy-JEE-uh), the Greek goddess of health and well-being. The Pythagoreans inscribed her name, meaning "health," around the five points of their pentagram. This ring carries that same idea, with five strands woven into one.
